In the last post we looked at The Flashlight and, more specifically, the spiritual applications in it. This post is going to follow those same lines as we look at the knife.
Just like flashlights, I love knives. I have my fair share of them, but I can always find a use for or place to store one more!
In God’s Word we find, in reference to the Bible, the phrases “the sword of the spirit” (Eph. 6:17) and “sharper than any twoedged sword” (Heb. 4:12). I think from these verses we can see a perfect correlation between the Word of God and an edged weapon.
1) Don’t leave home without it
This is an echo of our original post about this topic, but remember to think of this on the spiritual side. Don’t leave home without having your sword. Read it every day and have it on your heart whenever you leave the house (1 Pt. 3:15).
2) Have One for every occasion
For instance, I have a knife I carry for work, one for church, “fancy” knives, and others for multiple purposes. In regards to the Bible, I have many, but what I’m referring specifically is having a New Testament for soul-winning. Having a Bible specifically for a certain purpose allows you to mark it for that purpose!
3) Keep it sharp
This point is simple. Just like there is importance in keeping your knives sharp, there is immense importance in keeping your mind sharp concerning God’s Word! Read It, study It, and apply It to help you contend!
These posts have been different that some of our other posts, but I hope you have enjoyed them and the spiritual applications of these items.
What as some things you don’t leave the house without?
